Richard DERMENTt married four [or five] times. His first marriage was to Catherine McDaniel on 1 Mar 1811, in Prince George's Co, MD. Catherine was born on 27 Jan 1792, and died on 24 Sep 1826, at age 35 in Washington, DC. He married Sarah Ashbury on 13 May 1828 at Pleasant Hill Vineyard in Washington, DC. Sarah, the daughter of Capt. John and Anne Ashbury of Washington Co, MD, was born on 13 Apr 1803, and died on 8 Jan 1831 in Washington, DC, following a three month illness. Sarah was buried in Congressional Cemetery in Washington, DC. Mrs. Harriett Jane (Helm) Corbin, a widow, was his third wife on 19 Mar 1835. Harriett was born on 25 Mar 1788 in Belleville, VA., and died on 7 Apr 1842. Harriet is buried in the Congressional Cemetery. Mrs. Jane (Harrison) Clagett Compton, a widow of John Smith Compton, and a daughter of John and Catherine (Contee) Harrison was Richard's fourth wife. Jane was also buried in the Congressional Cemetery in Washington, DC, on 27 Jan 1867. Richard served in the War of 1812 in the 1st Reg't District of Columbia Militia, and was a government clerk for 40 years. Richard died on 12 Mar 1855, in Washington, DC.
